OPENWORLDKIT / PRIVACY

Your setup stays on your device

No account, cloud progress or third-party analytics. Your builds remain local.

Browser storage

OpenWorldKit stores hardware selections, RAM, free capacity, resolution, target FPS, session mode, map category/list preference, saved concept marker IDs and route-stop order under versioned owk:v1: localStorage keys. Data remains in this browser profile. Private browsing, browser cleanup or blocked storage can prevent persistence. Storage errors do not prevent tool use.

No progress is uploaded or synced between devices. Concept saves are not real game completion. Changing browsers or devices starts a separate setup.

Named builds use owk:v1:saved-builds; their current association uses owk:v1:current-build. Recent hardware selections use owk:v1:hardware-recents and comparison drafts use owk:v1:compare. The original owk:v1:pc configuration remains compatible. “Reset saved builds only” leaves hardware and other preferences intact.

Analytics & requests

No third-party trackers are enabled. Tool actions emit local custom events for a future explicitly configured first-party integration; no event is transmitted to an analytics endpoint and no hardware details are included. Page and asset requests necessarily reach the hosting provider, which may process request information such as IP address, requested URL and browser headers in its own operational logs.

Locally hosted fonts are used. Following publisher source links sends requests to those publishers, whose policies apply on their websites.

Sharing a PC estimate

“Share result” puts hardware IDs, memory, storage, free capacity and target goals into a URL fragment. It includes no build name or identity and uses no remote hardware storage. Fragments are not sent in hosting requests. Your browser share provider, clipboard and the recipient can see the link when you explicitly share it. Shared state keeps the clean route canonical and is marked noindex when opened.

Contact drafts

The report-draft tool saves a text file to your device. It does not submit it, store it on a server or collect your email address. If a public contact address is configured later, emailing it will be your explicit action using your own mail app.

Affiliation & contact

OpenWorldKit is independent of Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive. Check contact availability for support and privacy enquiries. This page was prepared October 2, 2026 and should be updated if hosting or analytics behavior changes.
